If you are going to apply for a commercial driver’s license (CDL), you are required to get and pass a DOT physical examination. The physical is much like your ordinary physical but more in-depth. This is because you are going to be driving much larger and heavier vehicles and you need to be in good health to limit the chance of you causing an accident.
